ESTIEM as an organisation can be broken down in three distinct areas.

Local Groups

ESTIEM operates through its local associations, each affiliated with a European IEM university, called Local Group (LG).

Central ESTIEM

It is the management of our student-run organisation, that consists of various entities with different scopes and tasks.

IEM Community

Our goal is to connect our students with the broader Industrial Engineering and Management network, like companies and academia.

CENTRAL

The ESTIEM Board

At the highest level, the international Board of ESTIEM serves as the organization's executive body, responsible for coordinating and supporting its activities. It includes six active students, elected by the network during every spring Council Meeting, each one responsible for different areas of the organisation. The Board's mandate lasts a year, from 01/08.

There have been in total 36 generations of ESTIEM Boards since the founding of the organisation.

CENTRAL

Committees

Committees are entities that organize, manage, and support the network's activities, each operating under a Board Member's area of responsibility.

CENTRAL

Departments & Services

Departments are a team of teams that coordinate activities and generates opportunities around the four development pillars of ESTIEM's mission.

Services are teams under each Department, responsible for different event types and ESTIEM offerings, managed by a Service Leader.

Academic
Development Department

ADD is dedicated to strengthening the connection between students and the academic world of Industrial Engineering and Management. It provides opportunities for learning and discussion ensuring that members gain insights that complement their university education.

Career
Development Department

CDD focuses on preparing ESTIEMers for their professional futures by bridging the gap between studies and the business world. It creates opportunities for students to engage with real career challenges, gain practical experience, and develop skills valued in the workplace.

Intercultural
Development Department

IDD promotes cultural exchange and mutual understanding among ESTIEMers by creating opportunities to experience life across different cultures in Europe. Its activities encourage members to immerse themselves in new environments and engage with diverse perspectives.

Personal
Development Department

PDD supports ESTIEMers in developing essential soft skills. Its activities focus on areas such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and self-awareness, providing students with the tools to grow into confident individuals

CENTRAL

Other entities

Beyond permanent Committees, Departments and Services, ESTIEM engages members through some other dynamic team formats.

Task Groups are teams that focus on short-term projects and dissolve once their specific task is completed.

Projects are recurring, branded activities delivering value to the network through one specific product.

Initiatives teams that explore new ideas, test innovative approaches, or drive change across different areas.

LOCAL

Regions

Our Local Groups are organised into different Regions. Each has a Regional Coordinator that assist the Board in Local Groups' monitoring, coordination and support. There are currently 8 different Regions within ESTIEM.
