BECOME A

Regional Coordinator

Regional Coordinators are the main link between the Local Groups and the ESTIEM Board. Their mission is to assist the Board in Local Groups' monitoring, coordination and support.

  • Supporting Local Groups in becoming sustainable, active, and continuously developing
  • Strengthening communication and collaboration between Local Groups within the Region
  • Being the connection between the Local Groups and the Central Board / ESTIEM Central
  • Representing the needs, challenges, and perspectives of the Region within the network
  • Developing and maintaining a strong Regional identity and sense of community

Local Groups in the Region: Ankara-Bilkent, Belgrade, Izmir-DEU, Istanbul-Bogazici, Nis, Piraeus, Skopje, Sarajevo, Targu-Mures, Xanthi.

Questions for application:

  • How do you plan to allocate your time and resources to different Local Groups that are either rising or on a downward trend?
  • How would you ensure smooth and efficient communication between the central level, the Region, and the Local Groups? Making sure that LGs stay constantly informed about important updates and opportunities within ESTIEM?
  • How would you ensure that Local Groups and their members are familiar with ESTIEM’s mission, vision and structure while strengthening their sense of belonging to the network?

BECOME A

Committee Leader

A Committee Leader is a key leadership position in ESTIEM responsible for managing one of the organization's operational teams—called Committees. Committees focus on specific internal work that is crucial for ESTIEM’s development and day-to-day operations, such as IT, Public Relations, Human Resources, Knowledge Management, and more.

  • Lead and coordinate a team of committed ESTIEMers
  • Define goals and priorities
  • Collaborate closely with the Board to align efforts with the network’s direction
  • Ensure task delegation, follow-up
  • Monitor and improve internal processes, tools, or communication methods
  • Foster personal growth and engagement within your team
  • Document work, maintain continuity, and support knowledge transfer

Mission

Increase awareness and recognition of ESTIEM towards IEM Europe and bring value to the network, by representing ESTIEM in external contexts, facilitating existing collaborations and establishing new collaborations with other organisations.

As an Ambassador, you will be working on ESTIEM’s relations with other NGO’s, be in close contact with the Board and a lot of ESTIEM entities and expand your network of contacts while developing your presentation and communication skills.

Main responsibilities of the Ambassador Coordinator

  • Ensuring the representation of ESTIEM at relevant external events and that the learnings from that event are shared with the network.
  • Inviting externals to ESTIEM events, in collaboration with the Leaders and Local Group responsible for the respective event.
  • Promoting external opportunities among ESTIEMers.
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing and joint event offerings with other NGOs.
  • Exploring and establishing new partnerships with NGOs according to ESTIEM’s needs.
  • Ensuring the proper visibility of our partner NGOs within our network

  • Would you be open to being the Ambassador for our educational partner EIIL?

As the EQ Leader you will be working on different aspects of event quality, analyzing and developing the quality in ESTIEM events, and coordinating the Event Quality team but also managing the ongoing operations and facilitating Local Group Exchanges.

Mission
The Event Quality Committee aims to work towards having a standardized Events’ quality improvement system, and consistent quality in ESTIEM events.” 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Providing support in Event Organization towards various stakeholders 
  • Working closely with VP of Activities, Service Leaders and Local Groups to develop the Event Quality
  • Organising “Training Event Organisers” twice in the mandate
  • Assisting the organisation of Services and Initiatives’ Coordination Meetings
  • Developing content related feedback forms for every Service & Initiative with their respective Leaders
  • Enforcing feedback collection on content within Services & reviewing feedback alongside Leaders
  • Supporting Leaders refining value propositions for their services
  • Supporting Leaders in questions on organising their events
  • Setting up the process of connecting exchange partners, coordinate and improve event content for Local Group Exchanges

What is missing from the current support that Central ESTIEM provides for Local Groups to organise events and what could be done/improved?

Being an EDC Leader is more than just organizing research and managing projects. It is about impacting IEM education, discovering Academic opportunities for IEM students and making a significant impact within the academic community!

Mission
Provide insights on IEM through conduction of research projects and support of the management of academic partnerships, in order to connect and inform the stakeholders in IEM Europe.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating projects and teams: you will carry out diverse projects by selecting suitable ESTIEMers aligned with the committee’s goals and project needs. Examples include educational campaigns, international research support, IEM surveys and online events/conferences with Professors.
  • Organising partnership events in collaboration with Universities and Professors.
  • Developing the Academic Projects of the network by advocating IEM Students opinions and impacting the Academic Community
  • Reporting about the latest developments in Education.

  • How can you improve the visibility and attractiveness of the Academic Opportunities provided by ESTIEM and Academic-related Institutions ?
  • How has been your involvement in University projects previously and what’s your motivatation to be involved in research projects?

Mission
Support all central ESTIEM entities in recruiting, onboarding, managing and developing their team members by facilitating recruitment processes, assessing stability and providing opportunities for development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Driving talent development and growth opportunities for Central members
  • Optimising and supporting Central recruitment processes
  • Assessing central team performance and aligning member motivation

Strategic Needs

  • Advance the automation of manual HR tasks by finalizing the HR database to polish the recruitment follow-up process
  • Actively advertise and communicate the Central onBoarding process so it becomes standard practice throughout all Central teams.
  • Develop and execute a structured framework for the talent development of Central members to encourage proactivity and long-term growth.

  • Developing people within Central ESTIEM is a huge potential. What is one concrete development program or initiative you would implement this year?
  • How will you encourage proactive thinking and self-driven project management among your members?

Mission
The Information-Technology Committee is responsible for maintaining the IT platforms and infrastructure, providing security on all ESTIEM platforms and providing technical support to users.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintaining ESTIEM portals and all IT related platforms
  • Ensuring proper functioning of the SSO and Google Spaces mail servers
  • Providing technical support for all users
  • Ensuring security on ESTIEM platforms

Strategic Needs

  • Implement a continuous, personalized recruitment strategy to attract IT-knowledgeable individuals, as standard open calls have proven ineffective
  • Ensure smooth daily operations and continuous support for Central while finalizing ongoing infrastructure updates.

Questions for application

  • As the ITC Leader, effective project and team management is actually more critical than deep IT knowledge. How will you keep your team motivated and on track while managing a wide variety of individual IT projects?
  • Standard Open Calls do not attract the IT-talented members we need. What personal approach or continuous recruitment strategy will you use to bring in capable new members?

Members  Committee’s  mission  is  to  assure  every  Member of ESTIEM follows the Membership Regulations and work on their activeness within the network – which includes assisting existing Members with possible struggles at a local level as well. Moreover, this Committee must monitor and support Guests and Observers on their  way  to  become a full Member. Lastly, the Members Committee also explores new opportunities in European Technical Universities in order to establish new Local Groups that would make the network more diverse.

Mission
Support Local Groups on their path to membership, monitor activeness, and identify opportunities for new Local Groups.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assuring Membership Regulations are followed by Local Groups
  • Being involved in the Local Group support strategy 
  • Sending open calls within time before every Council Meeting
  • Constant support of Guest and Observer Local Groups and monitoring their activeness
  • Analysing growth opportunities for ESTIEM by managing incoming requests from interested stakeholders

  • What do you see as the main flaw of the current state of the entity? How would you tackle it?
  • Supporting Local Groups is a relatively new responsibility of MC, since there was a Task Group for it before (LGSS). Do you have any concrete ideas/plans of how you would like to provide that support to ESTIEM Members?

As Public Relations Committee Leader you will work on improving the Brand and image of ESTIEM; and work closely with the Vice President of Public Relations while having the chance to develop your own Leadership and PR related skills.

Mission
The Public Relations Committee aims to maintain the ESTIEM brand by creating and publicizing the necessary brand materials for this purpose and to support entities and local groups in order to increase the recognition of ESTIEM to its stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implementing the Brand Strategy of ESTIEM
  • Managing ESTIEM’s social media channels, creating content and tracking KPIs
  • Coordinating and supporting the team: leading the team, but also finding and giving them opportunities to learn and develop themselves
  • Improving the working processes of the committee: working towards having a cohesive team with balanced workload
  • Supporting Local Groups with their PR needs

Strategic Needs

  • Rethinking the current Committee structure and the way it functions
  • Improving internal promotion (of events, open calls, other opportunities)
  • Close collaboration with all ER related entities on communicating the image of ESTIEM

Mission
The Safety Community purpose is to enhance the safety, well-being, and feeling of security for all ESTIEM members. The ultimate goal of this entity is to embed a culture of mutual respect, safety awareness, and accountability within and beyond ESTIEM.

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing the pool of Safety Contact Persons  
  • Establishing sustainable, transparent and accessible processes for proactive safety education of ESTIEMers 
  • Developing and implementing Safety Contact Person Training Programme 
  • Benchmarking and assessing internal needs

BECOME A

Initiative Leader

As an Intiative Leader you are head of a new event type or project, that aims to develop students in one or multiple of our core ESTIEM pillars.

  • Define clear goals and direction for the initiative
  • Build, lead, and motivate a team
  • Create a structured plan with objectives and timelines
  • Coordinate closely with the Board to ensure alignment with ESTIEM’s strategic vision
  • Ensure effective communication within the team and externals
  • Deliver results and contribute to the continuous development of ESTIEM

Mission

The mission of K.I.S.S. is to empower ESTIEMers in their personal development, helping participants better understand themselves and others through real conversations, shared experiences, and practical training. By creating an impactful blend of deep personal growth and fun social experiences, the initiative aims to foster stronger connections, healthier relationships, and more conscious lives centered around the themes of Self-Awareness, Relationships, and Love. While the ultimate long-term vision is to establish K.I.S.S. as a stable ESTIEM Service, the immediate focus is to refine, test, and solidify its unique value proposition within the network.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring visibility of this initiative among ESTIEM members.
  • Coordinating the organisation of subsequent offline events (goal: minimum 2 within your mandate)
  • Supporting Local Groups throughout the entire preparation and organizational process of hosting the event.
  • Striving to improve the quality of the events by supporting the development and improvement of sessions content and activities
  • Creating comprehensive support materials and setting clear expectations to ensure trainers feel confident handling sensitive, personal topics.
  • Expanding the Trainer pool by proactively engaging ESTIEM Alumni and external experts well in advance to reduce sole dependency on the Trainer Community.

Strategic Needs

  • Increasing visibility and engagement among ESTIEMers and Local Groups
  • Boost applicant numbers by optimizing event dates, launching promotion cycles earlier, and directly contacting Local Groups well in advance.
  • Secure the long-term sustainability and quality of the event with a well-prepared network of Trainers.
  • Evaluate the success of upcoming events to strategically position the initiative for its future transition into an official ESTIEM Service.

  • How do you plan to promote the initiative’s unique proposition to boost applicant numbers across the network?
  • How will you ensure you recruit enough trainers in time and make sure they are well-prepared to deliver these high-quality sessions?

Mission
Over the last few years, ESTIEM has expanded its educational portfolio through EU-supported initiatives focused on innovation, education, and youth development. As part of this effort, a new Product Management course was developed together with experienced ESTIEM Alumni in the field of Product Management and digital transformation. The course provides participants with practical Product Management skills through hands-on simulations and collaborative activities covering Agile methodologies, user discovery, prioritisation, stakeholder communication, and product strategy. The initiative aims to become a sustainable ESTIEM service, helping students develop relevant industry skills while supporting the future growth of the programme across the network.

Responsibilities
As the Leader of this Initiative, you will coordinate the implementation and development of the Product Management Course within ESTIEM. This includes:

  • Coordinating future editions of the course (goal: minimum 2 editions during the 2026/27 mandate)
  • Supporting the development and improvement of the course’s content and activities
  • Establishing a sustainable process for training future instructors
  • Analysing participants’ feedback and improving course quality

Strategic Needs

  • Creating sustainable and efficient operational processes
  • Implementing quality assurance and standardisation for course delivery
  • Increasing visibility and engagement among ESTIEMers and Local Groups
  • Developing a long-term instructor and participant development pipeline
  • Preparing the initiative to become a fully established ESTIEM service

Application Timeline

You can now apply for ESTIEM Leadership positions, appointed by the Board and aiming to support the development of ESTIEM. The mandate duration is one year 01/08/26 - 31/07/27. Here is the timeline:

During this round, ESTIEMers can apply to a Leadership position by submitting their applications in the Application Form.

Results

After receiving all the applications, the Board will evaluate them. The final results will be communicated to the applicants via email any date until June 14th.

Round

In case some of the positions open called are not filled, those positions will be announced and ESTIEMers can apply for them. The procedure shall stay the same as in the first round. Application Form.

Period

From the moment that a Leader is appointed by the Board, the handover period starts where the predecessors will prepare newly elected Leaders and teach them about the specific positions.

The Leaders Onboarding is an online event where you will learn all there is to know about what it means to be a Leader in ESTIEM, all while getting to bond with the Leadership generation that you will spend the next year with.
