More than 30 great years of impact and
international student involvement across Europe
In 1989, a group of IEM students in Darmstadt sparked the idea for an international event during a casual conversation. Following a successful international seminar, the groundwork for ESTIEM was laid, and in November 1990, the organization was officially established in Berlin.
If you are curious about the ESTIEM history, below you can find the ESTIEM Book - a document containing the full story of how our organisation came to be, with testimonials from founders, fun facts and more!
Connect and support the growth and sustainability of European associations of IEM students, to foster relations and to develop their IEM students, personally and professionally.

ESTIEM’s democratic, flat hierarchy motivates all members to take part. We inspire participation, fostering new ideas and involvement in activities.
Striving for Development
We grow together by learning from mistakes and embracing a learning process, gaining practical experience and essential skills through accessible opportunities.

Developing impactful
projects around IEM education
ESTIEM aims to contribute to the development of the Industrial Engineering and Management field in Europe by conducting different research projects, which involve students through surveys, papers and discussions.
